Book Arts Collaborative
Working as a part of Book Arts Collaborative was an eye-opening experience to say the least. I spent nine months learning more about business, interpersonal skills, marketing, and design than I had ever been exposed to in my life. As a business student I never had a lot of freedom to create and design new things, and through the Collaborative I was able to create products that were not only beautiful to me, but to other people.

I also was able to learn and be a part of the preservation of two dying arts, binding journals by hand and letterpress printing. Developing an appreciation for these arts and the people who still tie their lives to them has benefited me beyond measure.
I was privileged enough to be allowed to write my senior Honors College thesis on my time with Book Arts Collaborative, and record the areas of business I developed while building the Collaborative with my fellow students. My thesis was further outlined to be a guide for future groups of students, and assist them in their own efforts to build on what we started. My time with the Collaborative is among the greatest experiences of my college career, and I look forward to using what I've learned in the next chapter of my life as well.
